Communications Manager

Novelis is the world leader in aluminum rolling and recycling, producing an estimated 19 percent of the world's flat-rolled aluminum products. We work alongside our customers to provide innovative solutions to the aerospace, beverage can, automotive and high-end specialty markets.

The Novelis North America (NNA) team is seeking a Communications Manager who is ready to jump right in – developing relationships with our leadership team, building effective communications strategies for our employees, and enhancing our B2B brand externally. The Communications Manager will develop communications campaigns for Novelis’ largest region, comprising 17 manufacturing sites across the U.S. and Canada and nearly 4,500 employees. This team member will lead ongoing executive communications – internal and external -- in partnership with the Director of Communications and Government Affairs and colleagues specializing in Operations, HR and Commercial communications.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead Novelis North America’s internal communications strategy and planning, including annual Leadership Summit event, monthly leadership meetings, quarterly town halls and executive plant tours
• Partner with colleagues on external communications including media interviews, crisis communications, social media engagement, company partnerships and external events
• Develop campaigns aligned with business priorities ranging from safety to culture to business transformation
• Partner with teams including Commercial, Finance, HR, Capital Projects and Operations and provide communications counsel on special projects
• Lead two direct reports (HR Communications Lead and Communications Specialist)
• Manage regional communications budget

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years of experience in communications or a related field
• Track record of collaboration with multiple departments or organizations
• Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
• Experience with executive communications
• Curiosity and passion for quickly learning new concepts in sustainability, manufacturing and business
• Ability to travel as needed

Location Profile

Novelis’ Global Corporate Headquarters is located in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta Georgia and employs approximately 250 people. It is co-located with Novelis’ North America regional office which employs approximately 225 people. Supporting its 24 operations worldwide Novelis’ corporate office is home to the executive leadership team and global functions that support the automotive beverage can and high-end specialties value streams.
