Metal Procurement Analyst

Position Overview: 

Novelis North America (NNA) is hiring a Business Analyst. The Business Analyst is responsible for supporting a digital transformation through strong team collaboration, enabling the team to leverage advanced analytics for daily decisions and long-term strategy. Create an environment to facilitate and incubate people with a strong analytics backbone of the team that helps to achieve the focused five results.

The role will help to develop our short term and long-term strategic metal inputs direction by overseeing the metal/recycling data sets. This includes implementation of procurement intelligence database(s) to establish strategic buy positions and growing into new areas of the business where we have recently grown or expect future growth.

Finally, the job holder will design and build reports and automate them to assist with accurately measuring profitability, BOM Adherence, supplier scorecards and management reporting.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities: 

• Analyze historical data, market sales, and industry trends advise competitive prices across the metal market.
• Assist with the research and analysis of data.
• Closely supervise and research sales and data trends on the scrap markets.
• Monitor and analyze results, Prepare and transmit reports to key personnel and client, and if needed, implement process changes/improvements.
• Effectively and efficiently roll out price trend/movements across multiple scrap streams per evolving market conditions and/or management directive.
• Update metal/recycling fact base with relevant competitor and market data to help develop our short term and long term purchase strategy
• Create initiatives to reduce dependence on prime or SI
• Become a subject matter expert and act as an advisor to Purchasing Analysts with the goal of growing and optimizing future buys
• Supplier scorecard with focus on total cost of ownership. Integrate OTIF, quality, pricing (including purchase price, logistics and payment terms) and dispute resolution.
• Analysis and recommendations to support leadership team develop metal purchasing strategy.
• Management & Other KPI reporting

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Minimum BA/BS College Degree
• 2 years of work experience
• Excellent business partnering skills required - ability to interact and connect with individuals in various functional areas and various levels of management
• Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Detail-oriented, self-starter who is outspoken, disciplined and willingness to innovate by continuous learning
• Ability to positively manage change in response to shifting demands, as well as multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Strong Analytical thinking
• Ability to break down complex problems to build small optimizer models
• Eloquent in creating stories with data through Visualization tools (not limited to Power BI, Python, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Preferred knowledge in creating solutions using Power Apps, etc
• Preferred use of statistical tools like Minitab, Excel Analysis, Python, etc
