Job Description:

Hite Consulting is seeking multiple Communications Specialists to support our client at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This position will augment the existing staff's work and assist with a variety of communication and marketing activities. 

This position is a hybrid role primarily working remotely, with client engagement activities in Atlanta, GA. 

NOTE: This position is Contract Contingent and is waiting to be awarded.

Position Duties:

• Assists with developing, testing, and disseminating science- and audience-based products, tools, and messages to different audiences in a variety of formats;
• Drafts clear, concise communications for internal and external audiences;
• Drafts written materials that are accurate, well organized, and appropriate for the intended audience;
• Develops and presents printed, electronic, and audiovisual materials for technical and lay audiences, scientific journals, and Internet and other mass-media outlets;
• Assists with translating and disseminating complex scientific concepts and data for use by various organizations, communities, the public, and the media;
• Applies communication theories and uses audience segmentation analysis and formative research to help select appropriate communication channels and messages; 
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Required Education Level with professional experience in a Communications Specialist or similar type role:
  • Associate degree with 10 years of experience;
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience;
  • Master's degree with 6 years of experience;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to translate complex information into public messages; 
• Experience working with social media;
• Experience working with press and media relations;
• Knowledge of communication science methods;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Proficiency in the use of file-sharing, word processing software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Planner and/or Project;
• Experience with posting, editing, and maintaining information on the SharePoint platform;
• Experience in filing documents, electronic routing, or managing file structures within a MS-SharePoint environment; 
• Exceptional attention to detail;
• US Citizenship is required to obtain or maintain an active NACI security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with the Federal government, particularly CDC.
