Title of Position: Arts Program Manager

Reports to: Expanded Learning Director

Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Non-Exempt; Full-time: 12 Month

Essential Workforce

Primary Purpose: The Arts Program Manager is responsible for implementing the programmatic and administrative aspects of NorCal’s expanded learning program using a continuous quality improvement lens, while supporting the mission, vision, and philosophy of the school district and NorCal School of the Arts.

Compensation Range: $25 - $28 per hour

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in field related to education, child development, arts administration, theatre, or arts education;
  • Verification of a negative Tuberculosis test;
  • CA Department of Justice criminal background check clearance;
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation criminal background check clearance.
  • Passion for working with youth.

  • Facilitation strategies and approaches that create and maintain an environment of safety, respect, and learning;
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Experience coordinating complex projects with an attention to details;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and flexibility when they change;
  • Understanding of school cultures, ability to work on a school site, and adhere to policies and protocols;
  • Multilingual English preferred;
  • Cultural competency to understand individuals and communities from diverse backgrounds;
  • Conflict resolution strategies that support healthy social development in children;
  • Model professional behaviors and ethical standards while working collaboratively with stakeholders;
  • Ability to facilitate partner, community based organization and stakeholder needs;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication;
  • Computer proficiency Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and attendance database;
  • Maintain reliable, consistent attendance and punctuality;

Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervise

  • Federal, State, County, District and school compliance monitoring for policies, procedures, and communications;
  • Ensure program is administered in a safe, respectful, inclusive, and fun atmosphere;
  • Monitor facilities for cleanliness and maintenance;
  • Coordinate safety training, drills;
  • Carry over the social/emotional and instructional tone and style of the school day.

Coordinate

  • Stakeholder meetings;
  • Facilities and use of space;
  • Safety drills;
  • Special projects;
  • Meeting facilitation and community relations.

Operations Management

  • Create a safe, supportive and respectful learning environment;
  • Supervise site-base staff;
  • Follow all health and safety protocols;
  • Maintain systems and procedures to ensure accurate enrollment, delayed start, and attendance monitoring;
  • Ensure efficient procedures for setting up, checking-in, snack/meal distribution, check-out, and closing procedures;
  • Design flow patterns and transitional processes that support safety, efficiency, and comfort;
  • Procure, inventory, and maintain expendable supplies;
  • Design and implement academic and enrichment activities;
  • Ensure proactive behavior management intervention processes are consistent with the regular day protocols;
  • Organize evaluation processes;
  • Support student social and emotional development.

Communicate

  • Proactively communicate with parents and the school about procedures, updates, enrollment, behavior, academics, schedule, activities, and special projects.
  • Prioritize parent questions and concerns responses;
  • Deliver staff feedback using the continuous quality improvement cycle;
  • Supplies, facilities, training, programming needs and program quality to supervisor;
  • Comfortable with public speaking and presentations.

Training and Staff Development

  • Stay informed of innovative ideas, best practices and new research;
  • Facilitate staff development meetings;
  • Monitor staff training needs;
  • Organize team building activities;
  • Participate in safety trainings;
  • Seek out personal professional development;
  • Support the implementation and scheduling of arts modalities and athletic curriculum.

Environment:
