Inventory Control Specialist
This position pays : $24 / hr-$26 / hr
What you will be doing :
Monitor, track, correct and report inventory transaction errors
Monitor inventory trends and identify financial risks and opportunities with inventory
Establish or improve current process flows to enhance inventory transaction accuracy
Analyze inventory structure; recommend and support actions to improve inventory turn
Support weekly / monthly cycle counting and year end physical inventory processes; Review data and suggest process improvements to ensure high accuracy levels.
Support cost accounting team and standard costing activities Support monthly accounting closing processes
Identify aging inventory and with Inventory Control Manager, escalate to business channels to discuss options for secondary sale / donation / disposal
Coordinate the disposition of aged inventory through donation or destruction, including the identification of recipient, scheduling of pick-up, creating inventory journals, and the preparation, reporting, and retention of appropriate documentation;
Submit documentation to Inventory Finance
Coordinate the rework of product damaged during handling from the removal of inventory to the recouping / repacking of salvageable product to the return to inventory;
Ensure appropriate transactions are completed and damages are reported. Report any issues to the Inventory Control Manager
What you bring :
Prior experience in a Manufacturing or Distribution Operations environment is required
A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Inventory Management / Supply Chain / Cost Accounting roles is highly desirable
Strong organizational, prioritization and analytical skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills
Ability to gather, analyze, and report data and trends
Ability to proactively anticipate issues, analyze discrepancies, provide recommendations, and implement resolutions and improvements.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
Previous ERP systems experience is required, Microsoft D365 or Dynamic AX experience a plus
Advanced Excel is required and financial modeling proficiency highly desirable
