The NMAAM Bartender is a professional with an understanding of beer, wine and spirits, able to mix basic cocktails and provide courteous, attentive service to event guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with the set-up of bar, prepare items and batch cocktails before event ready time.
• Return, organize and inventory bar after event end time.
• Provide exceptional customer service to event guests with a courteous, positive and energetic disposition.
• Maintain clean service areas and uphold strict sanitation requirements.
• Work with a sense of urgency and purpose
• Adhere to organization policies and procedures.
• May be asked to assist with other event set-up, i.e., tables, chairs, linens.

All Staff Duties:

• Serves as leader to assure strong communications between NMAAM and all external constituents.
• Actively seeks to learn the history of NMAAM.
• Supports and promotes the museum’s mission.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of special events.
• Attend staff meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have (or be in the process of obtaining) a valid Tennessee alcohol serving permit.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Professional appearance (basic uniform of well-kept black top, black slacks and black shoes)
• Full bar knowledge, proper measuring, and basic cocktail history
• Knowledge of beer, wine and spirits
• Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays, etc.)
• Meet physical demands of the position including standing, walking and ability to lift up to 50 lbs

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
