Position Type: Full Time
Work Week: Typically Tuesday- Saturday. Nights, Sundays and overtime as needed. Flexibility required.

Job Description- The Event Office Assistant acts as birthday booking agent and party host lead, as well as, responsible for reservation data input for Zoo’s master calendar ensuring that internal and external needs are met. Additionally, The Event Office Assistant helps with preparing event materials, day of event execution and general office upkeep.
Basic Function and Responsibilities:
Reply to birthday inquiries, send party contracts, invoice and confirm needs with party parent
Relay needs of birthday parties and programs to appropriate departments
Serve as Lead Event Ambassador (Party Host) including training and staffing of additional Event Ambassadors. Ambassadors serve as hosts for a variety of events including birthday parties and private rentals.
Inputs, maintains and communicates the needs of the Zoo master reservation calendar
Inventories and organizes “in office” event materials including AV supplies and linens and birthday party program materials
General office oversight including copying, filing, office supply orders, processing financial transactions, and funneling inquiries to appropriate departments.
Provides event assistance including brainstorming, research and development, content and execution.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor degree desired
1 years customer service or event experience. Internships accepted as experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Characteristics
Must be energetic and good with children
Must maintain excellent customer service skills
Must be result and detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to work without direct supervision and able to take full initiative in starting and completing tasks
Accurate and efficient, time management skills
Must represent the Zoo in positive manner at all times
Able and willing to work a non-standard work week, including nights and weekends and a flexible schedule.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work outside in a variety of conditions, as needed.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
Ability to lift materials up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend and kneel.
Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day
Ability to operate golf cart or rtv vehicle
Uniform Requirements:
Primarily business casual with Zoo logoed shirt provided for program days as needed. Handbook rules apply.
Background Check:
Applicants for this position are required to submit to a criminal background check and pass a drug test.
