Mucci Farms is Hiring a DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES Near Huron, OH

Title: Director of Human Resources

Reports to: Vice President of Finance

Based at: Mucci International Marketing Inc., Huron, OH

Type of Employment: Full-Time, permanent, 5-days a week; and some additional hours which may include Saturdays, depending on workload and priorities.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Development and implementation of HR strategy to support business growth across multiple facilities
  • Lead the HR department in achieving it’s annual objectives and key performance indicators 
  • Develop total rewards system including merit, bonus, promotions, adjustments. Ensure competitive position within the industry and internal equity.
  • Develop and maintain compensation and benefit structure to retain talent 
  • Work with talent acquisition including recruiting strategy, onboarding and employer branding 
  • Research and maintain compliance with all employment related government standards and develop policies, procedures and internal audit processes to ensure adherence
  • Develop and maintain performance management system including performance reviews, performance counselling, progressive discipline and attendance management.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives such as employee surveys, employee incentive programs, social events.
  • Identify training needs to support employee development and implement group and individual training initiatives that support key organizational competencies
  • Oversee WSIB, RTW programs and set key metrics for reduction of experience rating
  • Oversee payroll department including W2 production and year end tax filing 
  • Oversee H2A and H2B application and program requirements in relevant locations

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • University/College diploma or certificate in Human Resources is required
  • 7 - 10 years of experience in HR Management
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation management, policy and procedure development and training.
  • Knowledge of all HR related legislative requirements: Ministry of Labour, WSIB, Human Rights, Occupational Health and Safety, etc.
  • Proven project management, systems implementation and troubleshooting skills required.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to multi-task and to reprioritize tasks on a daily basis
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, computer and time management skills.

Physical Abilities: 

  • Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Must be able to lift material regularly up to 14 kg / 30 lbs; and occasionally up to 23 kg / 50lbs
  • Must be able to climb stairs and stand on feet for an extended period of time.
  • Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 13 ˚C / 55 ˚F.
