for Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP)
Status: Full-Time, Union, Exempt
Reports to Program Director
Annual Salary: $50,000 - $55,000, commensurate with education and experience.

The Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC) is a vital community resource that changes the course of lives of Bronx and Manhattan residents to a degree not otherwise possible. Each year, we serve more than 35,000 preschoolers, school age children, teens, adults and senior citizens through our support, enrichment, education, and recreation programs, expanding their opportunities to live full, productive lives.

Major Responsibilities:
- Ensure a welcoming environment in assigned programs and sites.
- Program development and implementation as per the contract.
- Coordinate with program staff to ensure participant recruitment, enrollment, worksite assignment, worksite monitoring, worksite evaluation, intern payroll, etc.
- Attend all funder meetings and professional development and apply the strategies learned to enhance the program.
- Manage day to day operation by analyzing program data, tracking program attendance and retention, mentoring relationships, and program performance.
- Internship worksite development
- Overseeing of facility operations at site
- Oversee and conduct ongoing program member evaluations and surveys to ensure that high levels of quality in programs are always maintained; ensure outcomes align with the needs of the community and the Agency and funders’ strategic plan.
- Ensure programs operate in accordance with Federal, State, and local requirements, funders’ requirements and MMCC’s Best Practices
- Maintain consistent communication with worksites and school-based partners.
- Prepare for all program audits (internal and external) and review recommendations for implementation.
- Recruit and hire staff using screening tools and panel interview to gain the best possible fit with each opening.
- Provide direct supervision to program staff, assuring that staff are qualified, certified and are meeting performance standards for their position; ongoing staff development and performance evaluations; disciplinary action when needed.
- Provide training for staff and volunteers on an ongoing basis through staff meetings and workshops.
- Monitor and approve staff payroll; model and enforce all agency policies.
- Ensure all staff members are familiar with programs offered at MMCC to inform clients about MMCC programs that will meet members’ changing needs and interests.
- Program marketing development and outreach; relationship building with other community-based organizations, etc.
- Program reporting and inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Ensure that DYCD has accurate and up to date information in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Must understand utilization of community resources.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must provide quality internal and external community service; demonstrate good judgement in dealing with issues.
- Must have the ability to work independently with attention to task details and meeting deadlines.
- Leadership competencies for program stakeholders
- Persistent/resilient and able to multi-task
- Be Team oriented.
- Proficient in basic use of a computer to including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google
- Schedule flexibility including occasional weekends when needed.
Job Type: Full-time, Union, Exempt
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 6 pm and weekends as needed.
