MCPL is seeking an experienced payroll and benefits professional to process biweekly payroll, administer benefits and actively maintain accurate employment records for approximately 160 staff members while consistently meeting other time-sensitive processing deadlines. This position requires applicants to have experience following Human Resource best practices in compliance with all government regulations and employment policies. This position serves as an integral team member of the Human Resources department by providing administrative and clerical support and by providing excellent customer service for internal and external contacts.
The ideal candidate is experienced in conducting payroll and benefits administrative activities across multiple external and internal data systems (vendor portals and HRIS). Responsibilities include payroll and benefit updates, processing benefit carrier invoices, preparing reports for records audit and reconciliation purposes, assisting with compiling data and ensuring records are confidentially maintained in accordance with library policy and federal, state and local regulations.
Requirements
One year of related work experience (Human Resources/payroll/benefits administration) required.
Bachelor’s degree and/or Associate Degree in accounting or business administration strongly preferred (substantial applicable experience may be considered in lieu of education).
Demonstrated familiarity with Excel, Gmail, and HRIS platforms required. Experience in adopting new software applications is strongly preferred.

Pay Grade 114
Full-Time (37.5 Hrs./Wk.).
Starting hourly wage begins at $19.77 | Compensation is commensurate with relevant experience/expertise.
