MOBILITY INTERNATIONAL USA (MIUSA) seeks a temporary, part-time Exchange Program Assistant to join our team as we plan and conduct an exciting, week-long arrival orientation in Eugene, Oregon, for high school exchange students with disabilities from around the world!

Position Overview

Position: Temporary, Part-Time, Limited Duration (June through end of August, 2024).

• Start/End dates may be flexible (between June – end of August 2024).
• Must be available for in-person, full-time work including evenings and weekends from August 5 – August 14, 2024.

Location: Based in or near Eugene, Oregon strongly preferred.

• Before August 9, and after August 14: Remote/in-person hybrid option may be considered, but not preferred.
• August 5 – 14: In-person is required in Eugene, Oregon

About MIUSA, FLEX, and YES

MIUSA, a non-profit disability-led organization, works to advance the rights and leadership of people with disabilities globally. At the FLEX/YES Preparatory Workshop, MIUSA will prepare newly arrived international exchange students with diverse disabilities from various countries for their year in U.S. high schools. While in Eugene, students will visit a high school, engage in inclusive recreation and volunteer activities, and learn about their rights and opportunities as students with disabilities, before departing for host communities around the U.S.

Position Responsibilities and Qualifications

Position Reports to: MIUSA Exchange Program Leaders

Position Responsibilities:

• Assist with logistical arrangements, including development of program materials (activity schedules, outlines, alternate formats), communication with transportation, lodging and catering contacts as needed, and organization of program materials (first aid kit, office supplies, technology equipment)
• Assist with program activities, ensuring safety and inclusion of all participants
• Model MIUSA's values of full inclusion and equal participation
• Demonstrate teamwork, enthusiasm, integrity, respect, and a positive outlook

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year college experience or equivalent
• Excitement about working with youth with disabilities in an international context
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Drive applications
• Lived experience with disability strongly preferred but not required
• Experience working with youth and/or people with disabilities strongly preferred but not required
• Cross-cultural and/or international experience preferred but not required
• Must be eligible to work legally in the U.S.

Additional Requirements:

• Must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification by July 31, 2024.

Rate of Pay: Hourly, $18 - $20/hour, commensurate with experience. Expected 20 – 40 hours per week, including weekends and evenings during program.
