The Business Development Specialist primary role is to promote the firm, enhance brand recognition, and drive growth by fostering strong relationships with strategic partners. The Business Development Specialist will also be responsible for arranging focus groups, coordinating courtroom hosting events, and ensuring smooth operation of our jury-focused activities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility, build contacts, and market presence.
· Lead the planning and execution of company events, workshops, and seminars, aimed at showcasing the firm's expertise and strengthening relationships with existing and potential clients.
· Collaborate with the trial services to promote and maximize the usage of the firm's mock courtroom facility among clients, other law firms, and relevant organizations.
· Coordinating and setting up focus groups to test theories, arguments, and evidence before trial.
· Facilitating courtroom hosting events, including the arrangement of the venue, invitations, catering, and logistics.
· Collaborating with legal teams to understand their requirements for focus groups and courtroom events, ensuring all needs are met.
· Overseeing recruitment, screening, and selection of mock jurors for focus groups.
· Managing communication with focus group participants and event attendees, providing all necessary information in a timely manner.
· Ensuring compliance with all legal standards and regulations during the preparation and execution of focus groups and events.
· Managing the budget for each focus group and courtroom hosting event, ensuring effective use of resources.
· Coordinating the collection, organization, and presentation of feedback and data from focus groups to the legal team.
· Maintaining a database of focus group participants for potential future research and events.
· Continuously developing and refining strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of jury-focused activities.
· Other company events as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
· Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to read non-verbal cues, and an understanding an understanding of what influences human behavior, motivation, and decision-making.
· Organized and neat.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong telecommunication skills.
· Strong computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office platforms.
· Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to task management.
· Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, communications or related field.
· 5 years of experience in Business Development.
· 2 years of experience in project management.
· Legal industry background preferred.
· 2 years of event management – Preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Travel:
· 30 % to 40%
