Metaphase Consulting Llc is Hiring a Human Resources Director Near Reston, VA

MetaPhase Consulting is looking for a Director of Human Resources to support its needs as a fast-paced, culture-driven organization in the government consulting sector. The Director of HR will have expertise in the areas of HR operations, talent acquisition and management, employee relations, workforce planning, and total rewards (benefits, compensation, awards). The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker who will shape HR best practices and promote employee journey experiences aimed to attract, develop, and retain top talent. As a member of the senior leadership team reporting to the COO, the HR Director will collaborate across teams and with C-suite management to support corporate objectives, build a scalable HR function, and advise on matters related to our people experience.

The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, innovative, employee centric, business focused and customer service oriented, with hands-on knowledge of HR business processes. They are compassionate problem solvers and apply their experience to leading change management strategies. 

Basic Qualifications (Required) 

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in human resources, with at least 4 years of experience successfully building, leading, and managing an HR department in the government contracting industry. 
  • Experience partnering with business operations teams and leaders. 
  • Strong business acumen and presence, with ability to influence senior leaders on critical issues and decisions, who can also interact credibly with all levels of employees. 
  • Ability to adapt to frequent change and growth. 
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple stakeholders, influencing, and resolving conflict. 
  • Outstanding leadership and project-management skills; ability to model team building, coach developing managers and leaders, and problem-solve at all levels of the organization. 
  • Strong communicator who values candor; written and oral communication skills for developing and delivering training, policies, and analytical reports, and correspondence that propel organizational culture. 
  • Demonstrated creativity, flexibility, and sense of humor. 
Essential Responsibilities 
Contribute to company’s overall business strategy; evaluate and influence the effect of business decisions on people and translate business needs to actionable HR programs and solutions. 
  • Lead HR department vision and strategy; drive the work of the HR team to achieve organizational goals and support a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Hire, coach and develop a high performing HR team across multiple disciplines.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to apply and create best practice solutions. 
  • Design, implement, and document various day-to-day initiatives across the talent lifecycle including talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation and pay administration, benefits and leaves, employee relations, performance management and career development. 
  • Lead the definition, development and overall management of a job classification and position description framework consistent with the company’s core capabilities. 
  • Manage HR operations by developing HR processes and implementing systems that support company growth. 
  • Collaborate with internal HR stakeholders and other functional areas to build, integrate, and maintain HR technology interfaces across the company to drive efficiencies. 
  • Ensure compliance with, and manage reporting for, local, state, and federal laws and regulations. With support of counsel, manage employee legal interactions. 
  • Develop, communicate, and manage employment policies that provide up-to-date legal and equitable guidance for employees. 
  • Serve as partner and advisor to line management on a full range of HR and related business subjects, and act as the key facilitator and communicator in implementing HR programs within the organization. 
  • Manage a comprehensive benefits program; review benefits annually for cost and level of coverage and make recommendations for benefits changes to meet organizational objectives. 
  • Act as resource, problem solver and advisor to employees on a wide range of human resource issues; oversee accurate and timely responses to administrative and employee relations questions.

Mostly remote, with possibility of occasional work in Reston, VA office

Education Level 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint) and ADP 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; with PHR, SPHR or other certification credential preferred
