The Sleep Support Specialist is responsible for supporting MSC clinical services and the delivery of high-quality care through upholding MSC's standards on Care Training, Care Delivery, and Care Advocacy. Consistently and constantly exhibiting MSC's core values of Care, Communicate Often, Be an Expert, Embrace Change, and Drive Change.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Monitor and assist patients on positive airway pressure therapy (CPAP/BiLevel).
Routinely communicate with the treating physician, testing facility and MSC Business development team members in the development of a treatment recovery plan.
Monitors clinical key performance indicators and communicates findings with the Vice President of Clinical Services, Clinical Specialists and Operations leadership.
Assesses the need of the customer and the best choice of equipment and/or services to meet those needs.
Acts as a liaison between the company and the customer, family, caregiver, physician and other health care teams.
Instructs customer in the proper use and care of the equipment according to the written policies and procedures for that equipment.
Educates patients on their disease process and purpose/benefit of respiratory therapies as part of their treatment to help improve compliance to physician orders.
Communicates with the customer’s treating physician on changes in the customer’s condition and/or needs and carries out adjustment to the customer’s Plan of Care/Treatment.
Completes customer accounts paperwork, including Plan of Care/Treatment, Equipment Contact forms and assessments, and discharge plans for respiratory customers as needed per policy.
Obtain and maintain individual state respiratory care licensure as directed by the organization as needed to serve patients in multiple states.
Partners with operations leadership as requested to provide selective branch clinical respiratory care support (PAP, NIV, Oxygen, etc.).
Other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year university or college; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in respiratory care and or HME services
Licensed respiratory care professional, required.
Demonstrated knowledge of clinical and management practices, concepts and techniques
Strong training & education experience or equivalent education
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; edits work for spelling and grammar; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views. Contributes to building a positive team spirit; supports everyone’s efforts to succeed.
