We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our operations. This individual will lead a mid-sized team of estimators, project managers, project engineers, project coordinators, site superintendents, and site staff to ensure the successful execution of projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all operational aspects of projects for MBC.
• Provide strategic direction and guidance.
• Ensure efficient utilization of resources and adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Implement and optimize project management processes and technology solutions.
• Collaborate with preconstruction and estimating teams to ensure accurate project planning and costing.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the operations team.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Monitor project performance and identify areas for improvement to drive operational excellence.
• Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of various departments in the organization.
• Review financial statements and data and plan effective strategies for the financial wellbeing of the company.
• Develop and meet Annual Operating Plan, manage overhead spending and staff utilization.
• Provide support and leadership for continuous process improvements to improve business profitability and efficiency.

Additional Requirements/Skills

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Heavy Civil Construction, ideally in a Project Management or Operations Manager capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of project management principles, technology solutions, preconstruction, and estimating.
• Proven ability to oversee and manage a mid-sized team of project managers, coordinators, superintendents, and site staff.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to real-time challenges
• Successful track record in the public work, commercial and private market industry with the ability to attract new business.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements (DBE, environmental law, employment law, contract law, etc.)
• Advanced writing and communication skills.
• Relationships within the commercial and private market sector a plus.
• Valid driver’s license
