JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Sales Representative
FLSA STATUS: Exempt, Salary

WORK SCHEDULE: Full Time

Summary: Conducts sales calls, track sales activities, quotes prices, prepares proposals and provides information regarding terms of sales and delivery dates. Develops relationships with new and existing customers and provides information to maximize sales volume. Gathers data on marketing trends, competitive products and pricing. Requires substantial knowledge of items sold.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

  • Prepare quotes, contracts and responses for potential customers
  • Maintains all quotes documentation with accurate pricing and configurations
  • Develops and delivers sales presentations in a professional and effective manner
  • Responds to customer request and questions regarding products, pricing and accounts
  • Analyzes and rectifies customers concerns using established procedures
  • Assist customers in the selection and purchase of products and services
  • Conducts customer follow-ups to ensure satisfaction
  • Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors
  • Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, product, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications
  • Writes or types order forms, counter tickets or enters data into computer
  • Follow-up for collection of payment
  • Coordinate shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise and services
  • Responsible for cleaning and maintenance on company vehicle
  • Responsible in helping keep store clean
  • Responsible for assisting store manager with inventory control
  • Assist in counting and organizing inventory in warehouse
  • Responsible for turning in vehicle mileage and expense reports monthly
  • Adheres to all Company policies, procedures and practices
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

  • Ability to develop and deliver presentation
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store including counter sales, telephone sales and warehouse

  • Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques
  • Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-50 pounds
  • Public visibility requires a professional appearance and providing a positive company image
  • Work requires significant travel to current and potential clients. This requires the possession of a valid state drivers license

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) (preferred)

Three to five years of sales experience
