Summary

The Director of Sales Enablement will partner with business leaders, sales team members, and other key stakeholders to plan and direct all aspects of our organization's sales process, metrics, procedures, and policies. You will oversee the deployment and enablement of our sales systems including the establishment of success metrics and performance analysis against those metrics. You will establish long term goals to drive customer satisfaction and shorter-term continuous improvement projects to improve the efficiency and productivity of our sales team.

Essential Functions

  • Advance the organization forward in our sales operations performance, with focus on building repeatable and scalable systems which delight our customers, engage our employees, and reward our shareholders.
  • Develop standards for Sales including guiding metrics, operational design, and process as well as the communication plans to enable them across the business. They should be scalable and repeatable and managed for daily improvement ("MDI")
  • Leverage industry benchmarks and best practices to define and drive the organization towards best-in-class performance for all aspects of Sales, including key scorecard development, pipeline management and sales process development. This includes the following areas of specific focus:
    • Technology: Develop our technology platform to drive continuous improvement in sales process and accountability.
    • Sales Planning: Develop a center of excellence to support division-wide leadership in prime equipment forecasting, pipeline management and compensations.
    • Asset Management: Recommend new equipment stock available for sale levels to support the sales plan but do so in keeping with target inventory turns.
  • Align long term planning with the broader growth of our organization including organic and inorganic growth and expansion planning for new product and business lines. Merger and acquisition asset integration will be the responsibility of this role.
  • Make recommendations in new machine inventory to balance inventory turns with availability to meet return on asset goals as well as customer demand.
  • Work cross-functionally to remove barriers and deliver change management at all levels of the sales organization. Will collaborate with Supply Chain, Rental and Service Operations leadership for process enhancement and communication.
  • Establish clear transaction structure and compliance guidelines including the measurement of process adherence.
  • Closely work with sales leadership and finance on annual, quarterly, and monthly planning requirements.
  • Refine customer segmentation, territory management and coverage models as required.
  • Foster an environment of Continuous Improvement (CI) and work with CI team to ensure the communication, measurement and adherence of process changes affecting sales are delivered and sustained.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Higher degree or extensive related experience in a technical discipline highly preferred (Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Business Management, Sales Operations
  • Previous work experience within sales, or sales operations space, with a documentable track record of successes and accomplishments is required.

Computer Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM.
  • A high aptitude for mechanical process and equipment required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must be able to meet company requirements for auto insurance coverage.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Strong presentation, written, and oral communication skills.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to "think outside the box" to offer new ideas, concepts, solutions etc.
