Position Description :
The Training Specialist setting is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing training programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of military and civilian personnel within the department. This role involves conducting needs assessments to identify training requirements, designing instructional materials, and delivering training sessions on various topics, including operational procedures, technical skills, leadership development, and compliance with DoD regulations and policies. The Training Specialist employs a variety of instructional techniques, including classroom teaching, e-learning, simulations, and workshops, tailored to the diverse learning styles of the audience. They also evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making adjustments as necessary to ensure that learning objectives are met. This position requires strong communication and presentation skills, the ability to engage and motivate learners, and proficiency in instructional design and educational technologies. The Training Specialist must stay current with training methodologies and best practices, as well as the evolving needs of the DoD environment. They may also collaborate with other departments to align training initiatives with overall organizational goals.
Requires Security Clearance : Personnel must possess a final DoD-granted SECRET security clearance
Education : High School diploma/GED
Experience :

• Minimum of six years of directly applicable experience in the planning, scheduling, and presentation of training materials in support of IT services
  1. This experience must have been performed within the last four years.
  2. Specific experience in training end users in the use of products such as Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft PowerBI, Microsoft PowerApps and Windows 11
  3. Experience presenting training material both in person and via Microsoft Teams
• Preference is given to candidates who have experience with the above products hosted in Navy M365 Flank Speed.
• Candidate must have good written and oral communication skills
