The State Attorney's Office of Florida is seeking to add an experienced Legal Assistant IV to its team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative duties in assisting an Assistant State Attorney with case preparation.

Responsibilities:

• Update case management system and notes.
• Prepare legal documents.
• Responsible for all administrative activities as required.
• Accompany ASA to court and assist as required.
• Coordinate meetings, depositions and or court appearances including space, time, place and notify all participants.
• Assist victims and witnesses.
• Research and prepare reports.
• Receive, scan and distribute incoming mail.
• Receive and process Law Enforcement electronic media.
• Assist in the processing and maintenance of all electronic media including e-filings and evidence and media.
• Notarize documents as needed.
• Supervise and train employees as needed.
• Answer questions which may involve the interpretation of policies and procedures.
• Assist in hiring process as necessary for the selection of clerical and secretarial employees.
• Make assignments; schedules hours of work; provides for office coverage; and reviews the work of subordinate employees.
• Serve as administrative assistant by planning, initiating, and carrying to completion clerical, secretarial, and administrative activities.
• Supervise all levels of Legal Assistants as needed.

Minimum Requirement:

A high school diploma or equivalency and three years of secretarial/clerical experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience, a minimum of one year experience must be in a similar position within the State Attorney's office.
