Civil Legal Assistant
Legal Assistant needed for busy civil litigation law practice located in downtown Orlando. This position requires the following: minimum 3 years of Florida civil litigation experience; ability to draft documents and respond to discovery; proficient in Word, Outlook, Westlaw and E-filing. Experience with CosmoLex a plus. Must be well organized and have the ability to handle large caseload. Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
perform legal and factual research
Calendaring
perform records research
organize and analyze information
cross-check and validate information
prepare written reports
prepare correspondence
check and edit legal forms and documents for accuracy
build and maintain databases and files
organize and track case files
coordinate activities such as subpoena delivery, depositions and hearings
locate and interview witnesses
help with trial preparation including witness lists, exhibits and trial binders
assist the lawyer in the courtroom
draft pleadings, motions and memorandum
