Role Overview:

As the first Accounting hire at Leaf, you will be instrumental in scaling our accounting processes. You will be responsible for building processes that help operationalize our Finance function, performing period-end close activities and analysis, preparing tax filings, and driving existing processes, such as AP, AR, and payroll.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Build and orchestrate scalable accounting processes, such as month and quarter end close processes.
• Perform revenue recognition entries compliant with ASC 606 guidelines.
• Perform monthly P&L analysis and provide explanations for variances.
• Manage the preparation of tax returns across multiple regions.
• Prepare monthly GL account entries, account reconciliations, adjustments, and maintain supporting documentation.
• Manage the day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date accounting processes and procedures.
• Oversee the billing of our Customers and the accounts receivable process.
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations for all cash and credit card accounts ensuring accounts are balanced and reconciled.

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

• 3 years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience
• BA or BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA highly preferred
• Fluent in US GAAP; with a strong emphasis on ASC 606 compliance
• Highly proficient in Excel and experience working with large datasets
• Experience working with accounting systems such as Quickbooks Online and/or experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite or Sage
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Experience with SaaS Companies
