Kunai is Hiring a Technical Product Manager Near Atlanta, GA

As a Technical Product Manager, you will be at the helm of driving one of two major initiatives for our client that involve developing and modernizing data systems and API microservices. These initiatives will ensure the scalability and future growth of major systems within the organization that will have lasting impact. 

The first initiative focuses on ensuring the scalability and future growth of our system that processes every credit card transaction with cash back. Key efforts include extensive database work, such as schema design, API/microservices development, and implementing federated database strategies to enhance performance and reliability. 

The second initiative involves transitioning away from a legacy platform, requiring a comprehensive rewrite and modernization of the system. Responsibilities encompass re-doing all interactions related to transaction information, enrollment, and redemption. The approach includes both a lift-and-shift of existing functionalities and modernization to improve overall efficiency and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of technical product strategies for the client’s initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define and manage database schemas, APIs, and microservices.
  • Implement and oversee federated database strategies to enhance system performance and scalability.
  • Communicate project progress and updates effectively to stakeholders through well-crafted presentations and reports.
  • Ensure alignment of product development with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Utilize agile methodologies to drive product development and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience.
  • At least 3 years of product management experience or at least 3 years of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in API and database development or integration, and driving products that involved them.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • MBA or Master’s degree.
  • 2 years of experience in Agile product management.
  • Strong technical background, particularly in backend development, database management, and API/microservices architecture.
  • Relevant certifications that demonstrate expertise in product management or technical fields.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to create compelling presentations and reports using tools like Google Slides.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in leading large-scale technical projects with a focus on scalability and performance optimization.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
