The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for all day-to-day HR Administration and Management including, but not limited to; recruiting, employee relations, benefit administration, serving as a focal point for HR related issues, providing general and specialized administrative support as necessary for HR projects and day-to- day activities, preparing HR related documents, and other HR related functions as needed.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the recruiting process for all open positions. This includes, job postings, advertising, scheduling interviews, interviewing candidates, job offers and on-boarding.
Manages all human resources records which include maintenance of personnel files, employee discipline documentation, I-9 records in accordance with all legal requirements and company policy. Ensures all postings are up-to- date and meet legal requirements.
Works on Benefits Administration at all levels to include managing the inter-active process when needed. Manages the benefits process during open enrollment meetings and employee enrollment. Makes benefits easy to understand.
Provides assistance in the assessment and implementation of management and employee training needs and programs. May do actual training and facilitate groups/meetings when needed.
Assists with Worker’s Compensation Insurance carrier in resolving pending cases and staying apprised on the status of such employees in order to affect their expeditious return to work.
Coordination and management of DMV program.
Additional duties as assigned by the Company.
Experience and Skills:
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 1-3 years experience in a Human Resource function.
Experience with Retail/Restaurant industry preferred.
PHR certification preferred.
Strong organizational skills including the ability to work independently and to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage confidential information with the utmost discretion.
Practice tact and diplomacy in working with a variety of people (associates, executives, job candidates) in situations that may be stressful and/or involve personal circumstances.
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms including the ability to explain HR processes, policies and benefits.
Strong Microsoft Office skills and an ability to rapidly learn new technology.
Solid project management skills.
Ability to communicate all levels of the organization and problem solve effectively.
Have an ability to tolerate a high degree of ambiguity, and to negotiate with people having sharply defined opinions while maintaining positive, respectful relationships.
Have excellent attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal details, as well as a high level of integrity.
