KidsPeace is Hiring a HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR Near Ellsworth, ME

The Human Resources Director is responsible for management of Human Resources functions across Maine. Administers the employment function. Assures compliance with equal employment opportunity and other legal requirements. Manages HR Assistants, Staff Development Supervisor, and New Associate Training. Participates as a member of the KidsPeace New England Steering Committee, and Graham Lake and Foster Care/Family Services Management Teams. Works closely with the corporate HR team to disseminate information to New England employee population.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field. A minimum of 5 years experience in Human Resources.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local regulations governing employment and related human resource functions.
  • Demonstrated ability for evaluation, problem-solving, planning, organization and supervision.
  • Excellent speaking and writing skills.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Directs the recruitment, selection, placement and termination of exempt and non-exempt employees. Recommends and implements approved employment policies. Assures that employment policies are consistent with federal, state and local Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action requirements.
  • Promotes and maintains relationships with and among employees, supervisors and managers that will enhance trust and confidence in the organization. Counsels employees regarding employee relations and related matters.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities which might be enhanced by expertise in staff development to include (but is not limited to) staff recruitment and development and the tracking and evaluation of selected service goals and staff competencies which may be favorably influenced by staff training and professional development.
  • Develops, implements, and administers (through a variety of techniques) the management - employee relations area of the human resources program in an effort to improve employee relations.
  • Investigates problems incidental to sound and uniform human resource administration, such as disciplinary actions and employee and applicant appeals and complaints. According to circumstances, provides guidance and recommendations for problem resolution to department officials.
  • Supervises and provides direction to the subordinate staff engaged in developing and administering the organization’s recruitment and selection procedures and the organization’s human resources policies and procedures. Supervises and provides direction to the Graham Lake Staff Development Supervisor to design and implement staff orientation and in service training for all KPNE Graham Lake and FCFS employees using KidsPeace Model of Care and relevant licensing and regulatory standards.
