Just Eat Local is Hiring a Red Feather Sous Chef/Chef de Cuisine Near Boise, ID

Red Feather Lounge, is looking for a serious, experienced, and hungry kitchen professional to act as Sous Chef: a manager that supports the Executive Chef in managing our back of house staff, menu development, and standards of service. This position is 80% leadership in the kitchen, and 20% administrative. Red Feather Lounge is a Cocktail-focused, seasonally-inspired Northwest Gastropub. Our food should feature high levels of execution and sourcing, with low levels of fuss or pretense. 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring consistent and quality execution of current menus.
  • Assisting Chef in the development of new recipes.
  • Managing labor cost through a kitchen schedule that ensures smooth service while keeping cost of labor in line with projected revenue.
  • Maintaining a sanitary cooking environment and ensuring that all cooking procedures adhere to safety standards.
  • Checking & maintaining equipment to ensure everything functions properly and safely.
  • Holds other leaders accountable for stellar execution and standards.
  • Communicating with other chefs and managing kitchen staff
  • Ensure that the overall operational budgets are adhered to.
  • High standards for food quality (you make really good food)

Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum of four years professional experience as a line cook or kitchen manager
  • In-depth knowledge of food preparation and professional techniques
  • Ability to foster and grow a strong, professional team 
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Diversity of experience in culinary settings
  • Consistent, stable and dependable
  • Fair and firm management abilities with high influencing skills
  • Strong administrative skills and ability to learn new programs including but not limited to:
    • Google Suite: Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets (financial management, documentation, communication)
    • 7 Shifts (Scheduling)
    • Margin's Edge (inventory management, menu analysis)
    • Bamboo HR (General HR & Applicant tracking)

Compensation starts at $60k/yr salary, with inclusion in manager bonus program.
