Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable functions of our automotive dealership, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

1. Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, verifying proper authorization and coding.

2. Reconcile vendor statements, resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.

3. Prepare and perform weekly check runs or electronic payments, adhering to payment terms and schedules.

4. Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and ensure all documentation is properly filed and archived.

5. Communicate effectively with vendors to address inquiries, resolve issues, and negotiate payment terms when necessary.

6. Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.

7. Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals, account reconciliations, and reporting.

8. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to accounts payable processes.

9. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficiencies to enhance departmental productivity.

10. Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

2. Proven experience in accounts payable or related financial role, preferably within the automotive industry.

3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

4. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.

5. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

7. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

8. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

9. Experience with dealership management systems (DMS) is a plus.

10. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling financial information.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
