Description

Position Overview

The Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapy programs are seeking a full-time administrative Assistant position to assist their departments in addition to supporting a Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) grant. This individual will serve as an integral member of the IC Collaborates Project and SOW/MFT Department Teams committed to facilitating project and departmental success, providing day-to-day administrative support to BHWET IC Collaborates Project staff as well as the Social Work and MFT faculty.

This is a full-time (35 hours/week) in-person position that reports to Social Work Department Chair/BHWET Project Director and the MFT Program Director. This is a 2-year grant-funded position that has the potential to be renewed if external funds are secured and is immediately available on University’s New York -Presbyterian Iona School of Health Sciences campus in Bronxville.

Duties & Responsibilities

Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapy Programs:

  • Work collaboratively with all department constituents and serve as internal point/contact person for programs
  • Monitor and manage all aspects of office daily operations
  • Field and manage communications (appointments; walk-ins; phone; email social media etc.) and respond to requests in timely manner
  • Provide logistical and coordination support for major program events
  • Take meeting minutes for program/project meetings
  • Support/coordinateannual competency-based Program Evaluation data collection, display & dissemination of findings for both Social Work and MFT Programs
  • Provide administrative support during Self-Study and Site Visit phases of CSWE (Social Work) and COAMFTE (MFT) accreditation cycles
  • Other duties as assigned

BHWET grant:

  • Maintain regularly updated program and project lists
  • Maintain BHWET data tracking systems and as appropriate, participate in BHWET technical assistance calls
  • Reconcile monthly project/program related expenses with receipts to appropriate cost centers
  • Troubleshoot grant logistical/budget challenges as they arise in day-to-day operations; design solutions to address patterned or repeat issues  
  • Effectively interface with other Iona Offices to support grant implementation
  • Design and develop program/project materials for print and electronic distribution

Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in allied or related health profession; business; healthcare administration; or other, related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience
  • Technological and digital literacy skills
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and willingness to train/learn new programs and/or platforms
  • Strong organizational, time-management, oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed capacity to work independently and problem solve
  • Able to understand broad vision of the work at hand as well as having an attention to detail
  • Adaptable team player committed to the project and departments’ student-centered approach
