Assistant Director, CCBHC

JOB TITLE: CCBHC, Assistant Director

REPORTS TO: CCBHC Program Director

DEPARTMENT: CCBHC

We believe that in-person services are the best way to serve our clients, both directly and through essential operational support. This position requires in-person attendance with a team at 1 Brooklyn clinic location with some travel in support of the CCBHC Project.

Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Core Services includes:

  • Crisis mental health services including 24-hour mobile crisis teams, emergency crisis intervention, and crisis stabilization; Screening, assessment, and diagnosis including risk assessment; Patient-Centered treatment planning or similar processes, including risk assessment and crisis planning; Outpatient mental health and substance use services; Outpatient clinic primary care screening and monitoring of key health indicators and health risk; Targeted case management; Psychiatric rehabilitation services; Peer support, counselor services, and family support services; and, Intensive community-based mental health care for members of the armed forces & veterans.
  • SUMMARY: This person will be directly responsible for supporting CCBHC services and will serve as an assistant to the CCBHC Program Director. The Assistant Director will provide oversight and support to all the directors of core services to ensure the integrated services of behavioral health, substance use treatment, and primary care in a seamless fashion thereby assist in expanding access to care and improving outcomes through coordinated population health. Supports the direction and management of the CCBHC core services launch and implementation. Works with a multidisciplinary team including a mental health director, substance use director, a health team, a case management team and a peer director. Oversees the quality of care for CCBHC services (adults and child) with administrative supervision to ensure operational efficiencies with referrals, intakes, evaluation, treatment planning, reassessment and referrals. Supports the treatment fidelity to clinical service models. Coordinate opportunities for training and operational roll-out of training and evaluation. Responds to and responsible for site specific reporting, including, but not limited to, quality reporting and tracking and audits.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Works closely with the CCBHC Program Director to develop, launch and implement the program CCBHC Core Services for adults and child services.
  • Supports the strategic direction and leadership building of the CCBHC Core Services staff, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Supports the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with CCBHC program requirements and regulations for services.
  • Supports the recruitment, training, and supervision of clinical and administrative staff for the CCBHC Core Services staff.
  • Support the triage of service referrals and intakes to the directors of CCBHC core services and the implementation of a person-centered approach.
  • Monitor points of service activation with time-to-service guidelines.
  • Monitor and communicate clinical outcomes and program effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary to improve client outcomes.
  • Develop partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to enhance service delivery and access.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation.
  • Ensure compliance with billing and reimbursement requirements, maximizing revenue potential while maintaining program integrity.
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of services.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, accreditation standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in audits and reviews to ensure adherence to program requirements and standards.
  • Implement agency training plan to improve cultural competency and trauma informed

care as they align to program requirements for CCBHC Core Services and Agency specific mission.

  • Serve as a liaison regarding clinical issues between and among team members, clinics, community referrals, hospitals, day programs, and families.
  • Ensure CCBHC Core Services standards for services are being met and monitor progress with agency goals and objectives for performance improvement with quality indicators and fidelity to the model of core services.
  • Assists with new program development and program evaluations.
  • Responsibility to ensure and document partnership/collaboration with community partnerships and collaborations to enhance service delivery and access.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Available to travel and work evening and weekend hours as required by the grant and agency needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the CCBHC Interdisciplinary Team as well as external agencies and community stakeholders.
  • Attend all required management and staff meeting and complete all CCBHC and organizational trainings.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years with program management in a mental health and/or substance abuse clinic.
  • 2 years with supervision responsibilities.
  • 2 years with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience with adults and teens, preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient with word processing, electronic health records, and electronic communications.
  • Well organized with strong time management skills.
  • Basic knowledge regarding entitlements and other concrete benefits and social services.
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation regarding identifying client needs and obtaining related resources.
  • Experience in providing crisis management in a mental health treatment environment.
  • Experience navigating behavioral health systems and substance treatment systems.
  • Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including being able to maintain a professional temperament with both clients and colleagues.
  • Able to meet program standards in documenting in client records.
  • Ability to work with challenging clients.
  • Comfortable with community outreach and home visits.
  • Comfortable and competency working with racially, culturally, religiously and ethnically, linguistically, differently abled diverse communities, including but not limited to BIPOC and LGBTQ communities.
  • Bilingual skill in a language other than English valued.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Psychologist (LCSW/LMHC) with a CASAC, preferred
  • At least 3 years of clinical leadership experience

SALARY RANGE: $115,000 to $125,000 (Based on experience and licensure/certification.)
