JOB TITLE: Director of Application Services
REPORTS TO: Chief Information Officer

SUMMARY: The Director of Application Services is responsible for overseeing the implementation, management, optimization and support of all IDCC and affiliates applications. This role requires strong communication and analytical skills, strong leadership skills, technical expertise and a deep understanding of healthcare systems (EHR’s) and operations to ensure the seamless integration and functionality of our systems. Must be able to work independently as well as guide teams and work across departments for task completion. Monitor the team activities for best practices and ensure members are following industry standards for application and data integrity across systems and functions. This candidate will report directly to the Chief Information Officer.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Strategic Planning- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the use of IDCC and affiliates applications to support its mission objectives for integrated services.
- Application Management- Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of software applications used for electronic health records (EHR), teletherapy platforms, patient scheduling, billing, and other healthcare-specific systems. Must be skilled at solution finding and adept at building alternative methods for application.
- Team Leadership- Manage and mentor a team of application specialists, analysts, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Support the growth of team members with the delegation of activities and supervision of assigned tasks.
- System Integration- Collaborate with IT teams and multi-site clinical departments to integrate software applications seamlessly, ensuring compatibility, interoperability, and data integrity across systems. Ability to test and retest applications to troubleshoot solutions for active/live application fails.
- Compliance and Reporting- Ensure that all software applications and systems comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH) and facilitate the accurate aggregation and reporting of data for compliance with governing bodies and accreditation agencies. Adhere to and maintain expectation of compliance within the team on regulatory requirements.
- Data Management- Develop and maintain data management processes to ensure the accurate collection, storage, and retrieval of patient information and clinical data for reporting and analysis. Build a team approach to data management with monitoring of task members goals.
- Performance Optimization- Monitor application performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reliability, and user satisfaction. Attention to detail needed with ability to work independently and delegate as needed for completion of new builds.
- Vendor Management: Maintain established relationships with existing vendors, prescreen new vendors and products, coordinate to view, evaluate, and propose on the merging of function for new releases with existing licensed products. Communication with vendors and internal cross-department management as needed.
- Training and Education- Develop training programs and resources to support staff in effectively utilizing software applications and adhering to data management best practices. Actively train-up team members to build a culture of active learning with the implementation of strategic IT applications coming on board for agency-wide release/use. Assist team members to identify skill level development goal/s to contribute to ongoing IT projects.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the departmental budget, allocating resources effectively to support ongoing operations, upgrades, and new initiatives. Communicate and identify gaps and concerns to the Chief Information Officer.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing application services in a healthcare setting.
- Advanced knowledge in a programming language such as Java, C , Python, or Ruby, as well as web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Advanced knowledge of reporting platforms, data analysis, reporting, and visualization, with advanced proficiency in business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).
- Demonstrated experience managing complex software implementation projects and system integrations.
- Well organized with strong time management skills.
- Enthusiasm and self-motivation regarding identifying client needs and obtaining related resources.
- Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including being able to maintain a professional temperament with both clients and colleagues while problem solving.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve goals and deliver results.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- Comfortable and competency working with racially, culturally, religiously and ethnically, linguistically, differently abled diverse communities, including but not limited to BIPOC and LGBTQ communities.

SALARY RANGE: 160k-190k annually (Based on experience and licensure/certification.)
