Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounts Payable Specialist assists with the AP process to accomplish the goal that invoices incurred in the course of business are paid on time, accurately, and in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting practices. The Accounts Payable Specialist I will assist other AP staff as needed and take on additional projects as assigned.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage 14 electronic invoice mailboxes efficiently
- Enter invoices into electronic record workflow for department approvals
- Set up and maintain vendor files in GP and AvidXchange
- Request W-9s and contracts from new vendors
- Maintain vendor records in compliance with internal controls and 1099 requirements
- Keep records organized within the finance files
- Assist with other AP duties as needed.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and work closely with data and numbers.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to weather conditions outside of normal travel between locations.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Typical office environment; may experience minor discomfort from extensive use of a computer display and keyboard; travel between buildings on campus and between campuses; may travel out-of-town to attend training and meetings on an as needed basis.
