Imperial Electric Service are a growing electrical construction company that is seeking to grow our accounting team. We are currently hiring for a Construction Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Accounting team.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reply to all company emails directed to Accounts Payable
• Maintaining Accounts Payable process, including invoice entry, coding & check runs
• Resolve discrepancies, disputes, or other issues
• Complete task for projects that are opening and closing.
• Work closely with vendors and subcontractors to ensure payments are processed timely.
• Prepare and perform check runs, wire transfers, and ACH payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies. Review and reconcile AP Aging Report.
• Keep up with new and existing Vendor packets, W-9 forms and COI.
• Organize and maintain documentation of A/P processes and procedures
• Maintain A/P files, ensuring proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
• Work closely with the Accounting Manager to meet department deadlines.
• Meet weekly with the Accounting Manager to review tasks and processes of work.
• Prepare and process annual 1099 reports
• Cross training with Accounts Payable and purchasing to cover in the absence of an employee
• Other accounting duties as assigned
• Work with Purchasing to resolve issues in billing/expenses.
• Work with Project Managers to confirm bills/expenses from vendors.
• Maintain Company Business Licenses.
• Assists with answering phone calls, as necessary.
