JOB SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to facilitate and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The responsibility of this position is managing specialized work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The position requires high attention to details, concern for the correctness of work, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time. The person in this position will take work seriously, has a strong sense of duty, and is disciplined. A faster-than-average pace will be the norm for this position. Detailed, specialized work is the major focus. The person in this position will require clearly defined work, responsibilities, and reporting relationships, ongoing and thorough training opportunities to develop expertise and increase confidence. The position will provide security in a stable work environment, allowing the person to plan for, focus on and complete tasks on hand.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Companywide accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
Assist with monthly close processes including preparation of monthly journal entries, analyses, and completion of credit card/bank account reconciliations.
Support Accounts Receivable: apply cash receipt, help with collection of past due balance, and process daily invoices/credit
Work with Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing.
Reconcile discrepancies by checking source materials, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare corrective actions as needed.
Complete AR/AP related tasks for multiple entities
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, and sales tax computations
Performing GL and account reconciliation and analysis
Handling bank reconciliation and daily bank updates
Posting monthly accrual journal entries, fixed assets and depreciation
Perform routine clerical accounting duties within a fast-paced finance department while adhering to established standards
Prepare and interpret financial summaries and provide reports to managers on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
Financial reporting, preparing supporting schedules, and analyzing data
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

Ability to work collaboratively across all departments within the company
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

Strong MS Office and ERP system skills
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
2 years of relevant experience
Experience with QuickBooks, Smartsheet, Microsoft Excel, Outlook a plus
Experience in Construction and/or Multi-Company environment a plus
Knowledge of data entry
Strong familiarity with Accounts Payable process
Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment
Spreadsheet and ERP system experience preferred
Knowledge of US GAAP, and experience with the preparation and presentation of financial statements under guidelines established by US GAAP
Years of relevant experience will be considered for education
Legally authorized to work in the United States
