ImmunityBio is Hiring a Compensation Partner Near Culver, CA

ImmunityBio, Inc. is a late-stage immunotherapy company developing a broad pipeline of next-generation therapies that drive immunogenic mechanisms for defeating cancer and infectious disease. The company's immunotherapy platform is designed to activate both the innate (natural killer cell and macrophage) and adaptive (T cell) immune systems to create long-term "immunological memory." The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has accepted for review ImmunityBio's resubmission of its Biologics License Application (BLA) for N-803, a first-in-class IL-15 superagonist, plus Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) for the treatment of BCG-unresponsive non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer carcinoma in situ (CIS) with or without Ta or T1 disease, and has set a user fee goal date (PDUFA date) of April 23, 2024.

Position Summary

The Compensation Partner will deliver subject matter expertise and collaborate with HR partners and managers in the planning, development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs that support our business strategy. The role will conduct market studies, wage implementations, merit adjustments, cost analyses, pay equity reviews, policy interpretation, compensation administration, and other projects as assigned. The Compensation Partner ensures compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Provides consultation and advice to management and human resources on pay issues and compensation policies and practices (e.g., fair labor standards adherence, pay equity review, or general compensation policy interpretation)
  • Evaluates new and existing job descriptions for job, pay and exemption classification review. Recommends appropriate actions based on research and analysis of market, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, and current positions.
  • Provides support to management and human resources in writing job descriptions.
  • Identifies benchmark job matches and participates in salary surveys and other compensation surveys. Analyze and effectively interpret salary survey and other relevant market data, and makes recommendations for market adjustments, job architecture, salary structures.
  • Analyzes various components of the pay program (e.g., salary structure adjustments, merit guidelines, reward and recognition and special pay programs) on an annual basis. Conducts benchmark research, produces costing scenarios, and develops recommendations and proposals for program changes for review and approval.
  • Performs routine audits to ensure the integrity of employee compensation and job attributes data in our HRIS system. Analyze and maintain the discretionary bonus accrual file throughout the fiscal year.
  • Conduct the annual review of various pay programs to ensure equitable pay practices, internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance.
  • Develops and implements compensation administration policies and guidelines; and makes recommendations for growing our total rewards offerings.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and communication materials and to management and the human resource team on current and new compensation programs.
  • Ensure all total rewards practices, policies and procedures are executed in adherence to current legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining a proactive approach with new and anticipated changes to legislation and regulation.
  • Participates in total rewards projects and initiatives from inception to implementation, continually monitoring for success and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Supports the human resources team with recruitment and talent management activities.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) are developed, maintained, and adhered to by the team.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years' progressive experience required in developing and maintaining various aspects of a compensation program.
  • CCP and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • Experience with the design, implementation, and communications of compensation programs
  • Experience with HRIS implementations, configurations, and business processes
  • Experience with Workday preferred
  • Experience with designing, launching, and maintaining job frameworks preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Business acumen with an understanding of how compensation strategy impacts other human resources activities and business strategy; remains current with the current trends in the external labor market and total rewards best practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of compensation programs and strategies
  • Strong knowledge and experience with FLSA and other state and federal laws and regulations regarding wage and hour
  • Strong software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with and influence all levels of management. Able to provide written and verbal instructions, compile and present business reports/correspondence, and present information clearly and concisely
  • Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.
  • Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs.
  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.
  • Ability to analyze and develop compensation pay programs and structures.

This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus and equity award. The annual base pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications, prior experience as well as geographic location.

$105,000 (entry-level qualifications) to $138,000 (highly experienced)
