The Event Planning Manager is responsible for effectively coordinating details of meetings, conventions, and social programs involving Food and Beverage and/or Hotel Guestroom blocks. They will act as a liaison between an Organization and the Hotel, detailing all aspects of the group’s stay to ensure a seamless attendee experience. It is essential that this individual be an expert at building relationships and trust with Meeting Planners and Hotel Partners including the Oregon Convention Center, Travel Portland, Housing Companies, and preferred in-house and local vendors.
This position will host hotel tours and planning visits, support group’s menu development and tastings, review and implement contractual obligations, actively manage guestroom block yield, and facilitate communication before, during and post event with clients and pertinent hotel staff to ensure a high level of service.
The Event Planning Manager is a leader in the hotel, participating in and supporting initiatives within the Sales and Event team. The manager also works closely with an assigned Coordinator and other support staff.
