Current Opening:

We seek summer law clerks who are interested in obtaining estate planning experience to join our Portland, Oregon office for the 2024 summer. While you feel the full speed of our client needs/demands, you’ll appreciate the self-directed opportunities to personally work with clients from day one.

On your own, but not alone. We’ll be available with our layered experience and ideas to assist and guide you to become your best.

This isn’t your typical summer clerkship position. At SKH, summer clerks can interact with clients, provide litigation support, and collaborate with a partner on a case of first impression in Oregon. SKH law clerks are expected to support attorneys on complex and intriguing legal issues, often involving substantial assets and business interests.

Primary work tasks include:

· Research, writing, lots of detail management

· Assisting with preparation for adjudication/litigation of cases

· Collaboration/Assisting Associates and Shareholders

· Meeting clients; building rapport, trust and case control

· Being an active team member; enjoying the culture & community of achievers

Qualifications: Our ideal candidate would have the following skill sets:

· Candidates require creative and enterprising thinking, as solutions to client issues often aren’t found in books.

· Excellent organizational and communication skills.

· Strong legal writing and research skills.

· Creativity and flexibility in advocacy.

· Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
