Position Goal:
Assists in the planning and organizing of the human resources functions of Hughston Clinic Orthopaedics to include employment, employee relations, recruiting, benefits, payroll and training.
Position Responsibilities:
- Recommends HR policies and objectives for Hughston and serves as backup support to other entities as assigned.
- Manages functions of the department including employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and staffing. Assists in determining competitive wages, conducts analysis as required.
- Ensures timely processing of all requested new/replacement positions. Coordinates applicant tracking process by approved method.
- Conducts first interview as needed (review of position description, review of Company benefits, Company review as needed, candidate job/resume review). Forward to appropriate Managers for second interview as necessary (through Applicant Tracking System).
- Ensures timely processing (employee-hourly/salaried and physician level) of all employee/physician on-boarding, deduction changes, insurance, 401K, pay rate changes and basic payroll information for all locations. Scans documents to payroll as needed for timely administration. Ensures highest level of accuracy with all work performed.
- Manages and corrects any deficiencies noted on insurance or vendor error reports. Handles in a timely manner for minimum disruption.
- Performs HCO monthly insurance billing audits to ensure on-going accuracy.
- Assists CHRO with the planning, strategic goals, and objectives of the HCO HR department.
- Responsible for training supervisory personnel to ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures and employment laws.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, providing information and interpretation to management as requested. Consults CHRO as needed.
- Review personnel actions including merit increases, promotions, and transfers. Provides education and training to Management as needed regarding these practices.
- Responsible for processing timely terminationssend all notifications regarding benefitsTerm/COBRA, exit surveys etc.
- Responsibility for annual evaluation process (ADP) and pay administration process as assigned(June-July timeframe).
- Practices open door policy to encourage employees to discuss any grievances.
- Provide management assistance to all supervisory personnel, assisting them in performing personnel management activities. (when needed)
- Review and assist in resolving grievances submitted by employees, investigate/document as needed. Consult CHRO as necessary.
- Manages on a daily basis all HCO employee benefit programs/services and company health and wellness programs.
- Manages employee/daily operations of HCO 401K program.
- Conducts a continuing study of HR policies, programs and practices to keep the organization abreast with current practice and informed of new developments.
- Provides necessary information to front line management and employees such as
workshops, manuals, employee handbooks and standardized reports.
- Represents employer at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Responsible for facility FMLA program/monitoringLOA management.
- Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the HR function (OSHA< EEO< ERISA, Wage/hour etc...)
- Maintain strictest confidentiality
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations. Participates in monthly HR management meetings.
- Assist with renewals and bids for benefit plans through recommendations and benefit surveys
- Responsible for successful new employee orientation program.
- Oversees the coordination/management of employee programs such as; Nurse of the Year, Employee of the Quarter, Benefits Fairs, Health Fairs, Hughston Day, etc.
- Assists and takes initiative in handling issues of non-routine nature.
- Serves as back up to CHRO when needed for HCO division responsibilities.
Experience: One to two years of management level experience in a human resource department required. Medical/health care setting preferred.
Education:
Required:
- Associates degree or equivalent of two years of secondary education required.
Preferred:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
- HR certification preferred.
Special Qualifications:
Required:
- Must be detail and goal oriented and be able to work well in a fast pace environment.
- Must be able to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of employees.
- Must be knowledgeable of computer database programs and software such as MS Office Suite.
- Must have working knowledge and have the ability to interpret general policies, procedures, Human Resource Laws and general employment practices. Apply to workplace situations.
- Must have the ability to exercise independent decision-making.
- Must have the ability to effectively lead.
- Travel is required.
- Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR).
