Overview:
The HR Manager at Henry Booth House will play a crucial role in executing HR daily operations, overseeing HR departmental staff and supporting the Human Resources Senior Manager. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent organizational and administrative abilities, and a thorough understanding of HR functions. The ideal candidate will have a working HR knowledge of federal and state funding streams, especially Head Start/Early Head Start.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Supervise and mentor HR staff, including the HR Head Start Monitoring Specialist and HR Generalist, in executing various HR functions.
· Monitor and maintain compliance with personnel files for all HBH staff.
· Coordinate personnel file audits with delegate and community partner preschool agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
· Execute HBH recruitment efforts for permanent and temporary staff, including screening resumes, conducting interviews, coordinating orientation, and onboarding.
· Verify and update staff credentials and documentation in various database systems (Ex: Edocs in COPA) for directly operated and community partner preschool sites.
· Manage payroll data and attendance records in the HR database management system (Paycor) and ensure accuracy in payroll processing.
· Maintain employee information and personnel files, including original transcripts, background checks, and other relevant documentation.
· Assist HR Senior Manager in administering employee benefits, including health, dental, life, and LTD insurance.
· Act as a liaison with insurance brokers to handle employee questions and claims regarding insurance benefits.
· Prepare purchase requisitions and verify invoices from vendors, ensuring compliance with budgetary guidelines.
· Ensure confidentiality of all HR information and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
· Collaborate with HR Senior Manager in developing departmental goals and strategies to achieve operational excellence.
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the HR Senior Manager.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, with supervisory experience preferred.
· Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations, particularly in early childhood education preferred.
· Proficiency in HRIS & HCM systems, payroll processing, and database management.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
· Salary is commensurate with educational achievement and relevant past work experience.
