This role is office hybrid and based out of our Louisville or Bardstown, KY offices.

What the Role Is

The Staff Accountant will perform general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as the balance sheet and income statement. Records, analyzes, and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.

How You Will Spend Your Time?

• Assist in month end and year end close procedures to ensure all transactions are recorded timely and accurately
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Reconcile all company bank accounts to general ledger and maintain accurate listing of outstanding checks in ERP system
• Prepare and record liability, revenue and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
• Prepare monthly variance analysis prior to close to identify any potential concerns prior to the close of the general ledger
• Complete monthly intercompany settlement
• Monitor IFS purchase orders for coding errors, communicate with users to make corrections
• Prepare monthly financial packages for distribution
• Maintain commission agreements and calculate and process commission reports for monthly payment
• Audit new vendor forms
• Assist in annual financial audit
• Accounting projects and other duties as required

Who You Are… (Requirements & Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• Two (2) years accounting experience required
• Proficient computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office, ERP System Software, and other web-based application
• Demonstrate knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Detail oriented, reliable, and strong organization and time management skills
• Able to communicate effectively and manage multiple responsibilities
• Self starter with strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Strong work ethic and ability to cultivate working relationships throughout the organization

Physical Requirements
While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle objects, use a computer and reach with arms and hands. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
