Heartline Fitness is a subsidiary of The Amenity Collective and is looking for a full-cycle staff accountant to grow with our businesses. We are looking for a detail-oriented team player to complement our accounting team. To be successful in this position, you should be able to roll up your sleeves and dig into the accounting system and learn as much about the business as possible to better support the operations. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Completing full-cycle accounting activities and maintaining financial records and general ledger accounts, including month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, pre-paid transactions, accruals and variance analysis;
• Processing weekly check runs or similar processes within bill.com;
• Researching, reconciling and recording credit card purchases;
• Analyzing and recording monthly insurance bills;
• Monitor and distribute action items from the accounting email;
• Preparing annual tax packages and reporting requirements;
• Utilizing the accounting/ERP system and its reporting/dashboards to your advantage;
• Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems, processes and procedures; and supporting the Finance Director and other accounting teammates, as necessary.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• 3 years of accounting experience
• Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Team player mentality
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills
• Good problem-solving and time-management skills
• Experience with NetSuite, Workday and bill.com a plus

This position is an on-site position located at Heartline Fitness's corporate office in Rockville, MD.
