Heartland is Hiring a Market Manager Near Nashville, TN

Exterity, LLC is seeking a highly motivated and customer-driven professional to join our growing team as a Market Manager in Nashville, TN.
The Company
We are a progressive organization dedicated to building relationships and delivering exceptional service through leading commercial landscape firms across the US. We deliver the ordinary in extraordinary ways, by operating our business with a shared vision of excellence – combining best practices and the right tools for the job with ongoing training and support. We acquire companies in attractive markets who share a common culture of excellence and success. Our landscape companies are the first choice for employees and clients in the markets they serve. Exterity, LLC. is the managed service arm of HeartLand providing landscape and other exterior solutions to select clients with a multi-site portfolio, either regional or national.
The Opportunity
The Market Manager will manage the Florida territory, overseeing all activities within this region. The chief objective is to establish field-level relationships with Exterity clients and ensures client satisfaction through a process of inspecting/auditing client locations and presenting recommendations for property improvements, proper horticulture procedures, and quality service within budget. Subsequently, the Market Manager ensures quality service via scheduled inspections/audits and effective management of service partners, which may include recruiting, contracting, training, and terminating service partners depending upon performance. The Market Manager will negotiate pricing with service partners as part of the hiring/contracting process. This role serves as Exterity's “ambassador” within the marketplace, working to establish Managed Services as the commercial landscape maintenance provider of choice in the region and building the brand.
The Market Manager focuses on the following 3 Key Performance Indicators:
Customer Service and Retention Management
  • Communicate all extraordinary activity to the Account Manager within a 24-hour period.
  • Utilize the designated CRM system (Aspire) to track, schedule and plan daily/weekly/monthly activities, record customers’ needs/info, and stay organized.
  • Proactively promote and sell landscape enhancements on your assigned properties. Meet your minimum enhancement sales goals that are set by the Director of Operation.
  • Represent Managed Services in a professional manner on the assigned accounts.
  • Conduct and submit comprehensive property landscape audits on a regular schedule.
Enhancement Sales Management
  • Monitor each property for changes or growth and adjust the scope of services and associated billing via approved change orders or contract amendments.
  • Encourage business expansion opportunities within the client’s portfolio and transition such opportunities to sales as appropriate.
  • Market value-added ancillary Managed Services such as pressure washing, sweeping, windows, parking lot repairs, etc.
Management of Service Partner Contracts
  • Monitor the daily activities of your service partner teams and provide feedback to keep their work on schedule and to expected quality.
  • Pro-actively recruit new service partners to replace those who are not performing as expected or to serve as a back-up in case of service interruptions or delays. Contract, train, manage, retain or terminate service partners as needed. Negotiate pricing that meets the Company’s profit goals. Develop a “bench” of replacement service partners to step in in case a service partner’s performance warrants termination and replacement.
  • Manage all contractual agreements with your service partner teams.
If this sounds exciting to you, we are seeking a professional with these qualifications:
  • Landscape industry experience required.
  • 3 years progressive experience in customer service or operations management.
  • Ability to travel regularly (up to 50%) to effectively serve the client population.
  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • Exterior Maintenance industry experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, time management, organizational and follow-up skills, to assure all responsibilities are consistently and efficiently met in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage daily duties with limited supervision and direction.
  • Ability to problem solve, make sound decisions on routine matters, and seek guidance from supervisor when needed.
  • Driven to meet goals of position, team, and company, by working independently and as an effective team member.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and ability to project professionalism and courtesy even in difficult situations.
  • Results-oriented with proven ability to follow through while handling multiple and competing priorities.
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality, reliability and flexible enough to work varying hours to meet the needs of the company.
  • Exude the company values in all respects:
    • Human – we do love plants, but we cultivate people to serve people.
    • Exceptional – our best efforts energize everything we do.
    • Accountable – we own the outcomes in our relationships with each other and our clients.
    • Respectful – we believe in the golden rule.
    • Trusted – clients know they can count on us to keep their best interests at heart.
