ENDOCRINOLOGY NURSE PRACTITIONER

Health By Design, a Medici company is seeking a full-time experienced Endocrinology Nurse Practitioner. Will travel between four clinic locations (will not typically work at more than one location per day), providing care to retired San Antonio First Responders. Unique, all adult patient population! Our beautiful state of the are health and wellness centers offer a variety of services including on-site physical therapy, health and nutrition coaching, mental health care and more! Our Providers practice value-based care (NO fee-for-service), in an environment that is well-supported with RNs and LVNs. Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. No late hours, no afterhours charting. Essential Job Functions:

• Functions independently to assess, diagnose, and treat or recommend courses of treatment for adult diseases, with particular emphasis on disorders of the endocrine system and metabolism.
• Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care needs.
• Formulates and implements comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on patient assessments, evidence-based medicine, standards of care, professional practice guidelines and in partnership with physicians when appropriate.
• Treats and examines patients and makes diagnoses for illnesses in the thyroid, pituitary, adrenal and hypothalamus glands.
• Treats diseases and conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol imbalances, osteoporosis, and cancers of the endocrine glands.
• Prescribes, recommends and/or employs medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments and procedures.
• Counsels patients and families regarding medical processes, management of health illness/condition, medication, nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle changes that can positively influence their health conditions.
• Adheres to all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and statutes. Maintains and follows standard quality, safety, environmental, and infection control policies and procedures.
• Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.

Essential Job Requirements:

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program

Experience:

• Minimum two (2) years of hands-on experience as an Advanced Practice Provider.
• Recent experience in family medicine, internal medicine, and endocrinology

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Current Texas RN licensure or RN licensure with compact privilege from a state that is party to the Nurse Licensure Compact for RNs and LVNs and Texas APRN.
• Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Texas.
• Current Nurse Practitioner certification in specialty area of focus
• Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); PALS provider card as required by department and facility.

Physical Requirements:

• The team member may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
