Hawaii State Judiciary is Hiring a Human Resources Clerk V Near Honolulu, HI

Position Specific Description

Recruitment Number 24-070JCK, Human Resources Clerk V, SR-13*, Honolulu, O`ahu.
  • Salary rate effective July 1, 2024.

Summary of Duties

Independently performs substantive human resources clerical work that includes a significant proportion of those of a novel and/or unusually complicated nature which presents many possible alternative course of action and requires use of considerable judgment; and/or performs limited technical assistance work; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Generalized Experience: One (1) year of progressively responsible general office clerical experience.

Specialized Experience: Three (3) years of experience in an office where the work required the knowledge and application of pertinent human resources rules, regulations, procedures and program requirements.

Supervisory Experience: *For certain positions in the Human Resources Clerk IV level and above, applicants must show that they possess supervisory aptitude. Supervisory aptitude is the demonstration of aptitude or potential for the performance of supervisory duties through successful completion of regular or special assignments which involve some supervisory responsibilities or aspects; by serving as a group or team leader, or in similar work in which opportunities for demonstrating supervisory and/or administrative capabilities exist; by completion of training assignments; or by favorable appraisals by a supervisor indicating the possession of supervisory potential.

Substitutions Allowed:

Substitutions of Education for Experience:

1. Successful completion of a clerical curriculum at an accredited business or technical school may be substituted for the General Experience on a month-for-month basis up to a maximum of one (1) year.

2. Successful completion of an academic year in an accredited college or university above the high school level may be substituted for one (1) year of the General Experience.

3. Graduation from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of General Experience and two (2) years of Specialized Experience.
