As part of a small IT infrastructure support team, this position helps provide technical support for the Administration Office of the District Courts (DCA), the sixty-one (61) District Courts, five (5) Specialty Courts, six (6) emergency relief dockets, and four (4) Title IV-D Courts in Harris County. Tasks include help-desk user support, incident troubleshooting, documentation, and working on Audio/Video controls and infrastructure. The Technical Support Specialist has a strong focus on computer support, inventory, and administrative tasks related to facilities and the technical group. Some after-hours work will be required.
Duties and Responsibilities:Provide help desk support for the District Courts by telephone, remote control, and onsite support.
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot software and hardware.
Support and maintain audio and video presentation equipment in courtrooms.
Setup and maintain specialty laptops for a wide range of audio-video needs.
Support virtual Courtroom environments (Zoom and live streaming)
Assist in creating and testing images for end users’ computers.
Assist in setup and executing video conferences when necessary.
Provide support to end-users on various software including Microsoft Office, Eclipse, and Microsoft Outlook.
Work closely with the Judges and their court reporters to provide real-time testimony for high-profile court proceedings.
Responsible for technical inventory, including disposing of old inventory.
Maintain procedural documentation for court operations related to technology
Help the courts maintain updated website content as needed.
Support users with telecommuting and remote systems access.
Develop customized computer applications training curricula and train DCA and District Courts personnel.
Provide offsite support at Conferences and meetings.
Field a diverse array of support calls, including helping users resolve non-technology problems by serving as a liaison between users and service-providing departments.
Rollout and migrate from aged to new hardware and software.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited educational institution
Certifications:
CompTIA A and Network
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong desktop support troubleshooting capabilities, including providing system administration and application support in a hands-on fashion
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Ability to work well as part of a team
