Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Patient Coordinator. As a Patient Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility by managing patient appointments, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of provider's time
- Greet patients upon arrival, collect necessary paperwork, and verify insurance information
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Assist patients with completing necessary forms and ensure all required documentation is accurate and up-to-date
- Maintain patient records, including updating personal information, medical history, and treatment plans
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless patient care and follow-up
- Handle billing inquiries and process payments accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients
- Exceptional customer service skills, ensuring patients feel welcomed and valued
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in record keeping and appointment scheduling
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems or willingness to learn
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is preferred
