Responsible for greeting guests upon arrival and providing a positive first impression of the restaurant’s friendliness and quality service to guests. Also responsible for maintaining a cash bank and following the cash handling procedures of the outlet.

Essential Functions:

• Greets guest upon entering the restaurant and assists guests while on a waiting list in the time limit specified in the outlet standards.
• Escorts guests as soon as possible to appropriate table. Offers assistance if necessary.
• Performs reservations responsibilities and maintains seating assignment charts.
• Arranges for a booster seat or high chair as needed.
• Notifies manager of any guest that is perceived to be unhappy.
• Bids farewells to guests as they leave. Invite them to return.
• Keep host/hostess station clean and organized. Ensure all menus are clean.
• Restocks necessary supplies.
• Perform shift change and/or closing duties.
• Answers telephone and answers questions accordingly.
• Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
• Assist servers with cashiering. Maintain accurate exchange of currency.
• Maintains check control system according to standards. Notifies supervisor immediately of any suspicious or incorrectly handled guest checks.
• Takes room service orders as per outlet standards.
• Assists busperson or server with rearranging seating areas for special or large parties.
• Assists busperson or server with light cleaning duties as required.
• Assists server with sidework including but not limited to sorting and production of service sideware, rollups or displays.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
• The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.

• Ability to stand for a long period of time.
