Position Title: Estimator
Location: Houston, TX
Position Description
The Estimator will be responsible for the execution of all activities involved in project estimating. Responsibilities will include interaction with the Client when necessary, as well as Project Managers, Engineers and Procurement to gather and
validate the necessary data to build an accurate estimate. Other tasks will include template population and validation.
Essential Functions
• Prepare cost estimates for management and engineering services, equipment and material costs, construction costs, operating costs, and other costs associated with oil and gas industry projects.
• Work with Gulf’s vendors and contractors
• Maintain cost estimating tools including databases, spreadsheets, and other computer-based applications.
• Continuing professional development to remain current with industry practices.
• Maintain lines of communications between company departments, project manager and estimating manager with regard to cost estimating activities.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience in an estimating role.
• Basic experience in cost/scheduling or project controls.
• Detail oriented.
• Knowledge of computer systems in an engineering environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education
• Bachelor's or associate degree preferred or commensurate experience.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
• Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
• Frequent sitting and operating a computer.
• Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or office materials.

• Physical demands requirements are at levels of those for sedentary work.
