Greenwich Education Group is Hiring a Director of Human Resources Near Stamford, CT

Director of Human Resources
  • Oversees and ensures the success of the employee recruiting and retention process.
  • In coordination with Chief Financial Officer, set compensation policy and
determine/approve compensation levels for new and existing staff.
  • Advise school and corporate leadership on staff disciplinary and performance issues and
conduct meetings with affected employees. Determine appropriate levels of remediation/discipline and manage process in cooperation with company and school leaders.
  • Manage reductions in force if needed.
  • As Title IX/EO Coordinator, ensure that company and its schools/business lines are in
compliance with all applicable equal opportunity laws and regulations. Conduct
investigations of discrimination complaints by staff and students, and determine
resolution of complaints in cooperation with leadership.
  • Supervise and provide direction and supervision to the Human Resources and Benefits Manager.
  • Ensure that all staff hold the appropriate certifications and licenses for their positions.
Advise leadership in certification issues and work with staff and State to resolve
certification deficiencies.
  • Prepare updates to the company employee handbook and related written policies.
Communicate changes in policy to company employees.
  • Advise staff on leave options and approve all leaves of absence in compliance with
applicable law.
  • Review requests for disability accommodations and ensure reasonable accommodations
are provided in accordance with applicable law.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour requirements, workers' compensation,
unemployment, and other employment laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree. Advanced degree (MA, JD) preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a director level human resources leadership role
  • Familiarity with the educational field, independent schools, and/or nonprofit work is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to produce and edit high-quality writing
  • Possesses a team-player mentality
  • Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Compensation:
Compensation commensurate with experience and education.
Benefits and Terms and Conditions of Employment:
All benefits and other terms and conditions of employment as stated in the GEG Employee Handbook as may be amended from time to time.
Supervision and Evaluation:
The Director of Human Resources reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer who supervises and evaluates their role.
