GREATER LAWRENCE COMMUNITY ACTION COUNCIL is Hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist Near Lawrence, MA

The Account Payable Specialist will primarily focus on Purchase Orders and also be responsible for the entering in of AP invoices. The incumbent will work closely with the Grant Accountants to process agency purchase orders and submitting orders, in addition, to assisting their peer in entering invoices and completing weekly check runs. 
 
Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:
  • Processing and Filing of Purchase Orders in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Processing of advance checks from purchase orders.
  • Maintenance of purchase order files.
  • Responsible for keeping Open Purchase Order report clean.
  • Assisting with Escheated checks and reporting to State of Massachusetts.
  • Accurately reviewing, coding and processing vendor invoices.
  • Verify vendor statements and resolve any issues.
  • Perform data entry associated with Accounts Payable.
  • Expense claims for payment by matching and verifying with purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Complete Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist with financial audit requests.
  • Prepare and scan deposits for electronic deposit to bank.
  • Physically deposit funds that cannot be done electronically.
  • Assist in training Program Directors regarding the Procurement Process at GLCAC.
  • Process Vendor Set-Up Forms by entering new vendor information into Financial Edge and maintain W9 information for vendors.
  • Any additional projects requested by the CFO or Controller as needed.
 
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Prior Account Payable and Purchase Order experience is required.
  • Required to be adept in data entry.
  • Candidate is also required to possess exceptional attention to detail and superior analytical skills.
  • Proficiency to organize, prioritize and multi- task. Exceptional communication and time management skills required. Ability to work independently and in group settings. Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Required to have a suitable CORI & SORI completed within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
  • Ability to work effectively with and meet the needs of people from a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures, and identities, including underserved communities and people from the different racial groups, socioeconomic statuses, nationalities, and languages that make up GLCAC’s clientele, to support the agency’s mission of building a more diverse, equitable and inclusive organization for employees and clients alike.

The employee is occasionally required to kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment and uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines.
