Assistant General Manager:

We are seeking an outgoing, detail oriented, enthusiastic Assistant General Manager to help lead the way at our Deep Ellum location. The ideal candidate will work with the GM and other senior managers to shape the culture and financial metrics of the business as well as handle administrative and operational duties such as scheduling, inventory management, payroll processing, reporting, and guest metrics. This person should have strong leadership skills and be focused on guest service with a commitment to Goodsurf’s culture and brand identity. Leading by example and creating a safe, hospitable work environment are paramount fundamentals of this role.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead, develop, and motivate managers and hourly staff.
• Implement the Goodsurf mission and vision statements throughout all areas of the business while creating an enjoyable work culture.
• Hire and train staff to provide excellent hospitality.
• Work alongside the GM to ensure financial and guest metric goals are exceeded.
• Set and enforce quality and safety standards throughout the venue.
• Develop areas of responsibility for all direct and indirect reports.
• Ensure proper certifications and state and local regulations are met.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, and scheduling.
• Maintain strong relationships with the local industry, vendors, locals, and regulars.
• Create and maintain education materials for the service.
• Assist in training classes and ongoing education.
• Checking quality and quantity of stock and supplies.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment.
• Oversee all FOH and BOH areas and activities.

What You’ll Bring:

• 5 years of F&B experience with previous management experience.
• Time management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Financial acumen with emphasis on F&B metrics.
• Collaborative teamwork mindset.
• A genuine desire to be helpful: you jump in and assist other departments when necessary.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand up to 8 hours per shift.
• Scheduling flexibility and willingness to meet the demands of a complex operation. Weekends, holidays, and night shifts required.
• TABC and Food Handler’s Certification.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
• Compliance with all alcohol safety procedures.
