Good Guard Security is Hiring a HR Generalist Near Granada Hills, CA

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our team. The HR Generalist will play a pivotal role in supporting various HR functions, including i9 verification, recruitment assistance, disciplinary actions, terminations, union communication, contract compliance, policy development, and personnel file management. This role requires a thorough understanding of HR processes, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct i9 verification and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Assist recruiters with sourcing, screening, and scheduling interviews when needed.
  • Coordinate disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Handle guard removal from sites as requested by clients or management.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for union grievances and communication with union representatives.
  • Understand and interpret union contracts as well as other relevant agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Develop and implement new HR policies and procedures to align with company goals and objectives.
  • Maintain organized and compliant personnel files, ensuring readiness for audits.
  • Provide HR support and guidance to employees and managers on various HR-related matters.
  • Assist with employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and mediation.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including legal and finance, on HR-related matters.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in HR.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in HR, with specific experience in i9 verification, recruitment, disciplinary actions, terminations, and union relations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including those related to unionized workplaces.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred but not required.

Working Conditions:

  • This position operates in a standard office environment.
  • May require occasional travel for meetings, training, or site visits.
  • Some flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate meetings or deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
